Idaho Walk to Emmaus

ALL COMMUNITY GATHERING

FRIDAY, NOV. 3rd ~ 5:30pm

~ with Potluck & Communion ~

There are so many things to celebrate!  Almost 40 years of Emmaus in Southern Idaho, so many lives changed and so many long lasting friendships that will still continue!

It seems, however, that Idaho Walk to Emmaus has reached its end.  The Fall weekends were cancelled due to a lack of pilgrims, there are not enough board members to meet the Upper Room’s guidelines and the consensus of the July 29 Town Hall meeting was that the time is now to close.

Please join the community to celebrate.  There will be fellowship, a time to share during dinner, and we’ll end with Emmaus Communion.  And there will be a vote to dissolve Idaho Walk to Emmaus.  The community must vote so anyone present will have a chance to do so.  Please make time to attend—only community members present can vote.

All Clergy are invited to participate in Communion and all Emmaus Musicians are encouraged to bring their guitar/instrument to help lead the Communion Liturgy.

Wear your cross, name tags and bring a side dish/dessert to share.

BBQ pulled pork/chicken, place settings and beverages will be provided.
Please RSVP to sueellenwalker1954@gmail.com by Oct. 30th!

The objective of Walk to Emmaus is to inspire, challenge, and equip local church members for Christian action in their homes, churches, communities, and places of work. Emmaus lifts up a way for our grace filled lives to be lived and shared with others.

The Walk to Emmaus experience begins with the prayerful discernment and invitation from a sponsor.  After one accepts this invitation they complete an application.  The Emmaus leaders prayerfully consider each applicant and in God’s time, the person is invited to attend a three-day experience of New Testament Christianity as a lifestyle.

"And behold, on that very day two of them were going to a village named Emmaus, which was [a]sixty stadia from Jerusalem. And they were talking with each other about all these things which had taken place. While they were talking and discussing, Jesus Himself approached and began traveling with them."  Luke 24:13-15
